i have had a spoof buyer who brought my item. i received emails that seemed suspicious so contacted paypal and my suspicions were confirmed by them. i have received an email apparently from ebay saying the buyer has been re-instated on ebay but my name on the email was incorrect is this also a spoof? Protect New Sellers/Buyers on Ebay

I find the protection for new users on here unacceptable. and the customer service use of this site is pathetic. You can get hold of anyone, no one gets back to you if you finally find out how to send them an email. Has any other user been done by someone saying send your package to Nigeria it is for my son. How do i get a refund when the seller is not responding?

Hi, i paid for an item and then ebay emailed to say the item is no longer for sale due to seller problems. when i contacted the seller he did not respond to my email asking for a refund. What do i do? when i try to contact ebay or pay pay via email it wont let me because the item is no longer listed and i cant email them through the system without a valid item number. There is no telephone number or actual contact email address!!!Help!!Nicol

Hi, I have just bought 2 items on a buy it now paying immediately by paypal for them.i then got an email from the seller saying thank you etc.detailing the transaction.as is usual.but further down it says...if theres an issue to contact them via their website....which i went to out of curiosity and found that you have to register on there.alternatively email them on....and gives their email address. Fake Nintendo ds game, dont know what to do.

Hi,I bought a ds game and it arrived yesterday. The problem is it looks fake, the game was described as new and sealed but it was merely shrink wrapped. I started to list items on ebay last night, after the first item listed a message from ebay asking me to verify my bank details which i did then it said it would deposit two small amounts eg 50p/20p then within five days i should check my bank statement and then type in the correct deposits on the ebay site so my account is then verified i cannot list any items until this is complete. Has anyone experienced this, I have emailed ebay twice but no reply.

However after opening an account and filling in the form of the item im wanting to sell the final question was home phone number to confirm sells. I recieved this message at 11:30 at night my time so obviously could not send it then but did it the next day. I've recently been ripped off to the sum of 1600 pounds and have literally spent the last two weeks of my life trying to get some answers from eBay. I can't think about anything else, I've had no feedback whatsoever and it's practically taken over my life! I feel eBay have a lot to answer to at this stage. It should be highlighted the fact that their complacency contributes to the ease to which fraudsters can operate on their system. I won the item in question through a second chance offer that came to me through the correct channels (my eBay account) and the seller had a 100% feedback (although they did have 'privacy' switched on which should have turned on my alarm bells). Now eBay do explain in detail how to spot a fraudulent offer coming in the guise of a SCO and mine was definitely through the legitimate channels. I have the seller's BIC, IBAN, Account number, name, address and phone number. I contacted him and he claims to know nothing about the transaction. I also contacted the Bedfordshire police and reported the 'crime'. They have to wait until my bank can verify the transaction did indeed go through. I can understand how someone can hack into an eBay account but can anyone explain how a fraudster can also hijack someone

I was outbid twice on an item. (I can see the second one was not automatic due to the amounts.)I ordered the item instead from Amazon last night. Just had a phone call from the seller of #280390190134, who has been given my phone number as contact. It's not me, don't know the buyer, the address isn't mine. This happened about 5-6 months ago too. I reported it to ebay but there was no action they could take. I reported it to the police, because he was using my number as contact with motor insurance brokers too. I have had this number for 9 months. Once could have been a mistake. Twice could have been just picking a random phone number. Now it's happened again, I'm even more concerned. I don't know quite what action ebay Could take, I'd be interested in replies. Hi I was just after some help regarding an email I got from ebay saying that a listing that has all completed and been sent has been removed as the item was bought without the account owners authorisation, ebay have credited my account with all the fees i paid but I am really worried about this as surely if they have credited my account with the fees occured they will want the money back for the item itself, but this item got posted over 2 weeks ago as soon as the item was purchased so if they take the money back I will be left without the item and the cash. Could anyone tell me if I'm protected in any way as it was payed for using paypal, I have contacted ebay regarding this but have yet to receive a reply Thanks in advance for your help a copy of the email is belowDebbieThank you for listing the following items on eBay. Hello, in begin of this month, i bidding one sonyericsson c902, after the end i pay the phone quickly, 5 minutes after the end, the seller send me this mail:Hi, Thanks for payment via paypal. I have had problems sending items abroad in the past and my listing did say i will post to UK only. Very dodgy transaction

My auction for an iPod Touch has just ended and I sent the winning bidder a Paypal invoice. Not many minutes later I received an email from the bidder stating that it was not him bidding on the item so could I 'cancel the purchase'. I do not believe this at all; he has no feedback and been bidding on multiple MP3 players. I am very annoyed at his attitude and the fact he did not go through ebay procedures to cancel this, just emailed! Also, very concerned that he now has quite a few of my personal details. I have reported him to ebay, but I don't know how else to protect myself. Any suggestions of what else I can do.

i was offered a price on mt item through an email, i agreed only if they paid through paypal as a buy it now the person then emailed me stating that he had paid he then sent me fake emails from paypal stating that i would have to give my paypal id and the shipping number before they could continue the transaction meaning i would have to post the item i rang paypal and they confirmed it was a spoof but how can i report them to ebay as they are still a member?

My account was restricted due to someone accessing my account without my permission! Ebay sent me a series of emails telling me to change my password, so I did. Ebay then told me to click on a link to take me to Live Help to have my restrictions lifted but everytime I go into it I get refered to Contact Us and I send them the question and then the emails start all over again in a cricle.... Please please please can someone tell me how I can get my restriction lifted, i have contacted ebay to tell them this but I'm going round and round to no avail!!!!!!!!!!!!

eBay/gumtree confusion

Hi,I have responded to an ad on gumtree for a motorhome, which I am very interested in purchasing. The seller tells me he tried to list it as a classified ad on eBay but that it somehow got transferred to gumtree and does not appear on any eBay listings. He did, though, say that any sale must be handled by eBay and for this he would need details of my eBay ID (he has not said he needs my password) to register the 'buy it now' sale through eBay. I'm more than happy if this is the case but can't find any reference anywhere to this eBay/gumtree arrangement and how it actually works. Any confirmation/advice gratefully received.

Warranty not taken seriously

Hello there guys.I've purchased a mobile phone in January. Until 5 months, I've had no problems, but now the Sony Ericsson W910i which I purchased from this ebayer situated in UK is restarting randomly, occasionally freezing, also when I have a call and open the phone to answer it, the phone switches off.When I purchased the phone he told me that the phone has 1 year warranty from the UK. Now i contacted the seller (powerseller) and after about a weak he told me this:heysorry for late reply.i am sorry to say that i do not have warranty card with me becaz i change home and lost it some where else,so plz try to sort out this problem ur self. have good time ***** (name)This is not fair on me because I have warranty on the mobile and the seller is refusing to contact me again or refunding.What should I do about the mobile doing such things and about the thing?
