I have received an email supposedly from ebay asking me to log into "click here" sight to safeguard my accounts, this is because of an unspecified security issue, can you confirm this is genuineRegardsJim Thomas

how do i get to speak to an actual person in eBay?

I've recently been ripped off to the sum of 1600 pounds and have literally spent the last two weeks of my life trying to get some answers from eBay. I can't think about anything else, I've had no feedback whatsoever and it's practically taken over my life! I feel eBay have a lot to answer to at this stage. It should be highlighted the fact that their complacency contributes to the ease to which fraudsters can operate on their system. I won the item in question through a second chance offer that came to me through the correct channels (my eBay account) and the seller had a 100% feedback (although they did have 'privacy' switched on which should have turned on my alarm bells). Now eBay do explain in detail how to spot a fraudulent offer coming in the guise of a SCO and mine was definitely through the legitimate channels. I have the seller's BIC, IBAN, Account number, name, address and phone number. I contacted him and he claims to know nothing about the transaction. I also contacted the Bedfordshire police and reported the 'crime'. They have to wait until my bank can verify the transaction did indeed go through. I can understand how someone can hack into an eBay account but can anyone explain how a fraudster can also hijack someone

Is this a SCAM/SPOOF

Hi, could any one give me any information/helpOn the 20th of September i listed two brand new mobile phones but on seperate auctions for 5 days when they ended on the 25th in the morning somtime. I got in from work and checked my emails/ebay to see who had won the items i noticed that it was the same person who had won BOTH items and came from the Netherlands, i did state in the item description UK BIDDERS ONLY!! so i contacted the buyer by sending an e-mail just basically sayin Why have you biddered/won my items when i did put UK bidders only, anyway later that evening i checked my emails and got no response but they had sent payment for ONLY ONE item which was by master card and i only accept paypal by this time i was starting to think this cant be right, then it was saying on that email, that i had to send this item to a different address which was some where in Nigeria and that the funds had been deducted from the buyers account and was on hold untill i had posted the item and provided them with tracking number then they would release the funds into my account. I got another email the day after (Today) saying that i had an Unposted Item Strike and if i had not posted the item within 24 hours of this warning suspension of this account will take place. I also noticed that the buyer had only registered that day my items was ending (25th) the following day (Today) it was saying no longer registered. Can any one help me please it would be a big help for me, thank you

Can I give a buyer negative feedback?

Hi all,I have recently posted about problems selling electrical goods and people messing me around. The first one, I have done the unpaid item case, I have had my fees back and I assume he has an unpaid item strike now (not that I can find proof of this anywhere??). The second has just e-mailed me saying "I dont want it now"! This was after a harshly worded e-mail basically saying, let me know one way or another as I am getting sick of idiots! (He was obviously under 18 but I can't prove this). One of my main concerns is that I can't seem to find how to put negative feedback for them, just positive?! How can this be, I want all and sundry to know that they have messed me about!! Any other advice about reporting these people to Ebay and something being done would be much appreciated :)Clara

Targetted by scammers

I seem to have been targetted by scammers - every time I relist my item after a scammer 'buys' it, it happens again, even though I have all the requirements active. Four times it's happened since yesterday. Is there any other way to prevent my items being bought by people who are quite obviously scammers? (account started yesterday, 0 feedback, questions about PayPal details) And is there any chance to get a refund on my listing fee after a scam like that? It's piling up to quite a lot at this rate.

Your account has exceeded the limit. Please update or provide your credit card informationHi everyone - when I try to sell the above comes up and asks me to sign in. It also comes up if I want to revise an item. There are no alerts from ebay. Changed my password - am I doing something wrong - the only thing I have done recently was allow someone from the U.S. to bid on an item which to date they have not and I have now removed that permit just in case - any ideas? Thank you

Non receipt of item ... still! :(

Hi everyone, I paid for an item on 31st August and still havent received it. I emailed the seller on the 10th September saying I hadnt received the item, the seller apologised and said they would post asap. I then contacted the seller a further 2 times saying I still hadnt received the item. No reply, so I opened a dispute on the 25th September, the seller has now come back to me apologising that I havent received the item but they did post it to me on the 2nd September!, which doesnt ring true as they had admitted on the 10th Sept that they hadnt. What do I do now as the seller has sent me an email apologising that I havent received the item and has left it at that, help please! thanks everyone

HELP - I think I have been scammed

I bought a new Macbook Pro on ebay this morning but should have paid more attention. The feedback for the seller is well over a year old and I think the new things being sold are unrelated to computers.I have paid using paypal - is there any way I can quickly cancel the payment? The photo of the item comes from Flikr - an unrelated person has taken the picture.Fairly sure this is a scammer - what can I do?Item number:- 110441144637

Paypal and attachments

I recently got an email (supposedly from service@paypal.com ) asking me to verify my details as an foreign ip address had tried to hijack my account. The attachment that came with this email wanted my bank details mothers surname etc..and was suspicious so I callrd paypal on 0870 7307191 and they told me under no circumstances do they send emails with ATTACHMENTS ever.So be careful as I was fooled by the exact ip address of (service@paypal). Luckily for me I was in a hurry that day and have time to fill in the attachment of all my personal details.Instead sent it to spoof@paypal.com

Suspected scam buyer and cancelling the sale

Sold an xbox360 game last night and shortly after sale recieved the following e-mail from the buyer:"hi mate i bought this game for my son's birthday on tuesdaybut i have tried paying but i have no funds in my bankwould u post the game monday please so i recieve it for his birthdayand when i go to the bank wednesday i will pay you extra thanks.your sincerly- (buyer id)"Needless to say i didnt post the item today. However, would like some advice on how to cancel the sale as i no longer feel comfortable selling to this person. Would also like advice on what (if any) steps should be taken to report the buyer and what exactly i would report them for. Also the buyer is new to ebay (23 sept 09) and seems to have bought alot of items recently but not recieved much feedback in return. The buyers e-mail address provided also makes me feel even more wary (havent included as imagine that would breach terms).Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Simon
